Brave New World: Making The Jump Into CBD
“For many retailers, cannabidiol (CBD) is a new frontier that is both exciting and challenging. As sales in product categories such as tobacco continue to decline year after year, retailers are forced to look toward emerging markets like hemp and CBD in hopes of providing their customers with something new that will also find a permanent place in their lives, thus creating a new demand. The types of CBD products on the market vary, ranging from topicals and ingestibles to pre-rolls and flower. With so many choices, where does a retailer start when bringing these products into their stores? There’s also another challenge: With CBD being a relatively new market, how does a retailer go about choosing a trustworthy brand to stock on their store’s shelves?
These questions were explored during a special educational panel presented during this year’s Tobacco Plus Expo (TPE), an annual business-to-business trade show hosted by Tobacco Media Group (TMG), publisher of The Hemp Business magazine. This special educational panel was moderated by Case Mandel, CEO and co-founder of Cannadips, and it also included Laura Fuentes, CEO and co-founder of Green Roads; Bethany Gomez, managing director of Brightfield Group; and Jacopo D’Alessandris, CEO of E-Alternative Solutions (EAS).”
